About Us

The Institute for Medication Management began medication management services to patients and healthcare professionals on the 12th of September 2008 in the tropical island of Singapore with the aims of reducing costs and improving the safe and efficacious use of medications for better living.

Pharmacists at the institute regularly analyze patient medication profiles to identify and correct medication-related problems, highlighting these to prescribers and assisting in the development of therapy plans. While information services initially catered to the local population and medical travelers to Singapore, the institute now makes online medication management services available to patients with an internet connection anywhere around the world.

The institute began with a passionate group of pharmacists and is presided over by Sudesh T. Samuel. Mr Samuel previously practiced pharmacy at the National University Hospital in Singapore, running the drug information service and managing pharmacists in the provision of medication information to patients and healthcare providers alike. He was instrumental in the approval process for new medications that entered into the hospital drug formulary and in the ongoing assessment of existing formulary medications, balancing safety, efficacy and cost. Further to hospital and retail pharmacy practice at various public and private healthcare institutions, he was also an on-call pharmacist with the National Drug and Poisons Information Centre at the Singapore General Hospital. An experienced healthcare communications specialist, Mr Samuel has authored and co-authored peer-reviewed journal articles, continual medical and pharmacist education articles as well as custom healthcare publications for print and web media. Prior to his role at IMM, he held senior healthcare positions including that of regulatory director, managing editor and vice-president of communications with different healthcare organizations. Mr Samuel now manages the operations of the institute, availing service offerings to an increasing range of patients.

The Institute for Medication ManagementTM is affiliated with Myelin Healthcare, an organization that sources for orphan medications and other not-so-readily available preparations for physicians to increase treatment options especially for rare conditions. The institute also collaborates with charitable organizations and medical mission teams to improve healthcare services in third-world countries.
